Our new logo

Exactly a year ago we revived Studio Wolf, today we are excited to present you our new logo. Designed by Gert van Duinen, the new logo is a combination of abstraction and detail while we keep the mystical feeling.

Since the start of Studio Wolf in 2009, this is the fourth generation of our logo. A short history.

In 2009, Aljan founded Studio Wolf. In his own words, he didn’t really think about the first logo. ‘I just wanted to make something beautiful’. This also characterises Studio Wolf at that time: we created what the customer wanted. From identity design to print design and from from webdesign to building CMS’es.

In a young company things change quickly. So did our logo.

In 2013 things started to get serious. We shifted our focus entirely to interface design for web. It felt strange that we, as ‘non-logo designers’, designed our own logo. We asked Tim Boelaars to design a refinement.

Referred to as the Totem (past) or the Transformer (future). A much more abstract representation of a wolf.

Last year, 8 years after the foundation of Studio Wolf, we faced a choice. To keep or not to keep the transformer. Even though we continued under the same name, Studio Wolf feels like a different company now. The transformer will remain in our heart, but we have to move on. And that’s how it happened.

Fun fact: Aljan is actually a little ashamed that we switched logo’s so often, reasoning that it might look unprofessional. Well, let’s see how long this one lasts.
